Solihull-based business energy supplier, npower Business Solutions (nBS), has been announced as the Headline Sponsor of the first ever Solihull Pride, which will take place on Saturday 6 September 2025.
nBS is part of the wider E.ON Group, which is already a sponsor of both Birmingham and Nottingham Pride events. As a major employer in the town, nBS’s sponsorship of Solihull Pride, which is being organised by Solihull Business Improvement District (Solihull BID), continues its commitment to workplace and community inclusion where everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered.
According to organisers Solihull BID, the free-to-attend event will ‘celebrate diversity while promoting acceptance and equality for all’ and will include a parade, live music performances and special guest appearances.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Anthony Ainsworth, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at nBS, said:
“nBS is extremely proud to be the Headline Sponsor of Solihull’s first ever Pride event, which will be a wonderful celebration right on our doorstep. It is a continuation of our wider support for Pride events in the communities in which we, and our E.ON colleagues, operate and aligns perfectly with our mission of creating a more inclusive workplace for all.
“The event will shine a real spotlight on all the great work being done in Solihull to support and celebrate diversity and we are looking forward to being part of this history-making event.”
In December 2024, E.ON was awarded a Silver Pride Champion Seal, in recognition of the efforts of its leadership, employees, networks and diversity experts throughout the Group - including nBS - in creating an environment where LGBTQIA+ colleagues can thrive and feel valued.
Anthony Ainsworth continues:
“The recognition as a Silver Pride Champion is testament to the commitment of all of our colleagues and leadership in creating a truly inclusive environment. That said, while we believe that diversity is one of our greatest strengths, we also recognise how important it is that we continue to learn and grow.
“For example, we encourage our colleagues to participate in initiatives such as our LGBT+ and Friends network, which started more than 15 years ago in the UK and is highly engaged and active within the company.
“We also help our colleagues understand various aspects of sexual orientation, including not only the challenges faced by those who identify as LGBTQIA+, but also on how we as a company can support our team to be allies.”
