Energising Samaritans of Solihull’s mission
Samaritans of Solihull sought a sustainable solution to manage increasing energy costs while continuing their essential work. A grant of £12,250 enabled the installation of solar panels and battery storage, helping to secure long-term savings.
As a self-funded charity, Samaritans of Solihull provides 24/7 emotional support to over 200,000 people and relies entirely on volunteers. However, rising energy costs have put increased pressure on their finances. By reducing both costs and carbon emissions, the new system enables more funds to be directed towards volunteer training, outreach, and suicide prevention services.
