Motoring journalist Amanda Stretton talks about why she’s passionate about electric vehicles (EVs), how she got into racing cars, her time with Jaguar’s Formula E team and why the progressive nature of the industry is attracting more women.

Amanda has combined her own automotive passion with being one of the UK’s leading female motorsport, classic car and automotive TV broadcasters, and has built a reputation for her knowledge and understanding of the international car industry, developing technologies, government policy and consumer motoring. As we move towards increased electrification and transport and domestic energy requirements merge, she is combining this wealth of experience and understanding as Centrica’s Sustainable Transport Editor. She is still the only British female racing driver to have ever won an International long-distance GT race.
