Leeds Children’s Charity at Lineham Farm creates a comfortable space for disadvantaged children to have fun. The npower Business Solutions (nBS) Foundation gave the organisation a grant to reach this aim and meet its sustainability goals.

Providing an escape for some of the most disadvantaged children in Leeds who have difficult, sometimes abusive, home lives, Lineham Farm also wanted to meet environmental targets. A safe, happy space for children from the inner city to enjoy nature, adventure and friendship, it also needed renovations to build on its green credentials.

I’d like to say a huge thank you on behalf of the children, beneficiaries, trustees and staff. Everybody’s been absolutely delighted with the impact of this project.

The nBS Foundation provided funding to make these energy efficiency improvements, including upgrading the heating system, installing new solar panels and replacing rotting windows across all the buildings at Lineham Farm.

Sharon Milner, CEO of Leeds Children’s Charity at Lineham Farm, commented:

“The impact of the funding has been massive. We have a lot of buildings here, some of which had rotting windows. This grant has enabled us to replace a lot of them, which has made a massive difference to the rooms the children are staying in, and we were also able to purchase a new heating system.”
