As the government gathers evidence on how artificial intelligence (AI) could support the UK energy system, we commissioned our own research to understand how businesses are approaching the use of these technologies for energy management.
Our findings reveal that more than half of those questioned are already using – or soon plan to use – AI-based tools, with 64% believing AI can have a positive impact on managing their energy consumption.
However, the findings reveal notable differences across business sizes, site portfolios, and sectors, with several unexpected trends emerging.
We also explored the sustainability implications, as the rising energy demands of data centres come under increasing scrutiny.
