Providing a sense of community for our colleagues

Written by npower Business Solutions | 21/05/2025

While our customers are at the heart of everything we do, our colleagues are the backbone of our operations, and we are committed to providing an inclusive, supportive and collaborative working environment for all.

As part of this, we take pride in prioritising our colleagues’ wellbeing, ensuring they feel empowered to openly discuss and address their mental health issues, as well as those of their family members.

So for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week, which is an annual event providing an opportunity for people across the UK to focus on achieving good mental health, we hosted a number of staff activities and events to promote 2025’s theme of ‘community’.

In our short video below, our Director of Commercial and Data & Metering Services, Ben Whitelam, covers all of the activities we held throughout the week.

While we believe it’s important to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week, we understand that mental health should be recognised every day. So to ensure our colleagues remain supported throughout the year, we have dedicated Wellbeing Warriors across the UK, who are on hand to listen and provide support.

Jo Hammond, Internal Communications and Engagement Consultant, and Wellbeing Lead at npower Business Solutions (nBS), commented: “It’s really important to us that we make our people’s wellbeing a priority and help colleagues to feel safe enough to talk about their mental health so that we can support them where needed."

Mental Health Awareness Week is a great opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to colleague wellbeing while focussing in on all the support services we offer, including our Wellbeing Warriors whose aim is to help champion mental health and wellbeing, as well as being a friendly and supportive ear when people need it.
