The insights module provides an overview of energy performance for each site.
This module can be located by clicking on the three-line menu at the top left of your screen. Selecting INSIGHTS from the drop-down menu will provide you with a choice of tabs, each displaying detailed insights for your portfolio.
Portfolio Analysis
On this tab you will be able to view a year-on-year performance comparison of your electricity portfolio in both a map and table format.
The map displays the geo-location of all the sites in your portfolio.
By the icon’s colour-code (see map legend) you can understand the number of sites in a particular region and an individual site's performance (vs the previous year). The tabular view provides an analysis of the performance for each site.
Select any site in the table to go directly to the Consumption Analysis tab.
Benchmarking
This tab provides a visual evaluation of the performance of your portfolio commodities expressed in Consumption (kWh), Cost (£) or Carbon Emissions (kgCO2) per square meter*, making it easy to find your best and worst performing sites. Simply use the icons at the top right of the screen to change the data view.
*This functionality requires square meter data for your site.
Consumption Analysis
On this tab, you will be able to analyse consumption for one meter or channel at a time, at your chosen level of granularity.
It is also possible to compare the performance of a meter against another selected meter or different time period.
When selecting multiple sites, comparisons can be visualised in both bar chart and tabular view, by clicking on the icons above the data field.
In the tabular view a user can see comparisons of peak, average and total consumption.
Heat Map
The heat map can help you to understand consumption patterns and anomalies at a half hourly granularity for the specified period.
Days of The Week Consumption Analysis
This view compares the consumption pattern of individual weekdays, helping you to understand your average daily profiles.
Day and Night Consumption Analysis
This display shows a split of consumption into day (07:00 – 00:00) and night (00:00 – 07:00). Use the granularity selector above the graph to view your data at different granularities for a selected period, alongside a total consumption view displayed as a doughnut chart.
Load Analysis
On this tab, you will be able to view Agreed Supply Capacity alongside ‘Apparent Power’ for a single site or compare actual or ‘Apparent Power’ for multiple sites’, over a defined time period. Simply use the icons at the top right of your screen to apply filters and change your view.
The table shows the three maximum peak half hourly values for the selected period. If you have a supply contract with npower Business Solutions (nBS) the Agreed Supply Capacity information will be drawn from our billing system, otherwise it can be input manually.
Actual KVA calculation (KVA) = Max Demand/Power Factor
Maximum Demand calculation (kW) = Highest HH kWh within the Period*2
Profile Analysis
Here you will be able to view consumption patterns split by day (07:00 – 00:00) and night (00:00 – 07:00) periods at a single site level, compared to a previous period.
% variance increases and decreases are also displayed, allowing you to quickly identify any trends and anomalies.
This data considers temperature variables such as heating and cooling degree days.
Temperature Analysis
This tab allows you to view consumption (kWh) alongside outside temperature and calculated heating and cooling degree days for a single meter.
The granularity and time period can be changed to allow you to analyse how your site consumption may be affected by external temperatures. Simply use the Calendar and Site icons and the granularity selector above the chart to adjust your data view.
Seasonal Analysis
This chart provides an average daily consumption pattern for your site. Each line depicts the consumption pattern for one season of the year. The reference value used to calculate heating and cooling degree days values is 15.5°C.
